Published on 01/31/2024, the first figures for crime and delinquency observed in France in 2023 indicate an increase compared to 2022. Although thefts against people are generally down (-8% for violent robberies without weapons, -3% for robberies without violence), homicides (+5%) and attempted homicides (+13%) continue to increase. Assault and battery (+7%), sexual violence (+8%) and fraud (+7%) also increased last year.
